Kumu Aloha as he is affectionately known by Halau members takes his inspiration from dreams, nature, tradition and the advice of Kupuna. Dedicated to giving his students the skills to hand craft all of the things they need for their dances, frequent family trips are arranged to allow Halau members the ability to find, gather and craft their hula accessories. Since 2004 Kumu Aloha has guided the Halau through growth and change and has overcome many challenges to see his dream into reality.
Those that have been touched by his passion for hula, his creative vision and dedication to teaching the traditions of the Hawaiian culture are never the same.
Studying under Kumu Aloha one comes to understand the words he often says, "Hula is not a hobby...it is a lifestyle.
